Mr. Boender Brings his Tools to School



Mr. Boender works as a carpenter. He brought his work truck and all his tools to school to show us. He showed us how to be safe while using tools and we all got a pair of earplugs to put in our ears. He showed us some hand tools and some power tools. Mr. Boender built a birdhouse for us to put in the forest at school. He even brought us some timbits because carpenters love to drink coffee and eat donuts. It helps them enjoy their work

Gardening Tools We thought we would help out Mr. Beimers by cleaning up the front of the school by his office. We helped out by picking the weeds and turning the soil. We got some practice using a shovel, a trowel, a garden claw and a hoe. We even got to plant a bean seed so we can watch it grow!(Thanks to Mrs. Bosma for letting us use her own gardening tools.)

The Firehall (KT)

We are so glad that we got to go to the firehall today. When we got there, the firmen were away on a call. We almost had to go back to school without seeing even a single firetruck. After a little game of tag, we were so happy to see the firetruck coming back. The firemen taught us some important fire safety rules, some great safety tips, and with Andyn's help, we learned how to STOP, DROP and ROLL. We were excited to sit in the firetruck and see all the tools and equipment. We loved seeing the jaws of life. We had so much fun using the hose to put out the "fire". We even managed to give a few cars a carwash! We learned that firemen are not scary and that underneath all that big equipment are people who can help us. Miss Taylor even got to try on all the equipment so that we could see it all. When she was ready to fight the fire, the bell rang and the fireman had to leave quickly for another call. What a fun morning! Thanks again to all the firemen!

Grandparent's Day

Thank you to all our Grandparents and to all our friends who came to our classroom for a visit on Friday, April 5. It was so fun to show you our classroom and our work and to take you on a tour of our school. We loved having you with us. We hope you had fun too!

100 Day in Kindergarten

Full time Kindergarten celebrated 100 day by having a party. We made 100 day headbands, coloured 100 polka dots, did 100 excercises, counted 100 fruitloops, and beaded 100 fruitloops onto a necklace. We had so much fun. Can you believe we have come to school 100 times? Check out our pictures from the day!
